Salary: $44,458 to $48,713 Annually                   Salary is based on education & experience

Job Description: LVN implements professional & administrative nursing services under the direction of the RN and psychiatrist for persons diagnosed & being treated for a mental illness; is responsible for maintaining a competent & professional level of nursing care in the program & for monitoring the delivery of medical related training, medication, including side effects; Coordinates with medication clinic staff to ensure efficient day to day operations of the medication clinic program. LVN provides oversight and ensures proper implementation of the medical/nursing functions for the individual’s receiving medication related services within the MHMR Medication Unit, which include, but not limited to lab screenings; physical exams; medication education/training; medication administration; liaison with pharmacies to ensure timely and accurate medication orders. Requires working closely with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate and implement treatment plan and treatment recommendations.
Education: Graduate of a professional nursing education program.
Experience: Prefer experience working with persons with mental illness.
Hours of Work: 8:00am—5:00pm; Monday through Friday; hours will vary according to needs of program and availability of job applicant.
Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Vocational Nurse with Texas Licensure, valid/current Texas driver’s license and must be insured by Agency.
Physical Requirements: Light lifting under 15lbs., moderate carrying 15-44lb, simple grasping, walking, sitting, standing, operating office equipment, ability to see and hear (with aid), ability to read, write,  count, maintain confidentiality, and the ability to work closely with others; ability to pass the Preventative Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) Training as well as all other physical requirements for this position.
Required travel within the 7-county service area.
